Description:
One of the most influential contemporary British icons, one-track minded, evocative of inspiration, inventive, radical, incendiary, worshipful, toothless, romantic - Morrissey is an artist that cannot be described in one word. The vocalist and poet of The Smiths, described by the NME as "the most influential band of all time", is a charismatic and dominant figure on the British music scene with his aesthetics, words, lyrics and music. The one-of-a-kind presence, unrivaled by any other, has released a new album. I AM NOT A DOG ON A CHAIN" is his 13th solo album. Produced by Joe Ciccarelli, known for his work with Frank Zappa, The Strokes, Beck, and The White Stripes. He also produced 2017's LOW IN HIGH SCHOOL. Recording took place at La Fabrique Studios in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, and at Sunset Sound in Hollywood. This is my fourth Morrissey album," says Ciccarelli. This is his most daring and challenging album to date. He has once again expanded his horizons, both lyrically and musically. And once again, he proves that he is one-of-a-kind, both as a songwriter and a singer. In fact, no one can be Morrissey...except Morrissey himself! The lead single from the album is "Bobby, Don't You Think They Know? The duet with Morrissey is performed by Motown legend Thelma Houston, who gave the world the No. 1 hit "Don't Leave Me This Way" in the U.S. in 1977. She adds powerful, soulful vocals to the groovy, Hammond-roaring song, and comments on her collaboration with Morrissey: "This is one of the greatest joys of being in this business. One of the greatest joys of being in this business is being given the opportunity to collaborate with other top artists. I love to rise to the challenge of seeing what I can do for what others are doing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." On "Bobby," I think the fusion of Morrissey's song and mine really worked. And working with M in the studio was a lot of fun! Morrissey, whose 7" single "It's Over" (from the album "CALIFORNIA SON"), which was recently pre-released at HMV in the UK, recently reached #1 on the UK analogue singles chart, commented on the new album on her official website "Morrissey Morrissey has commented on the new album on his official website "Morrissey Central" as follows: "It's me in my best form... too good to be described as my best work ・・・・." Morrissey has also commented on the new album on his official website "Morrissey Central" as follows
