Ricky Peterson, the sound creator behind the scenes for Prince, is a jazz musician whose parents are brothers and sisters, the Peterson Brothers. He is joined by his nephew Jason on alto saxophone, and together they create a close-knit family groove.Jason is a player who has mastered the Sanborn manner, and his R&B-groove music is so appealing that some Sanborn band fans will find it irresistible. In addition to songs by the recording participants, the band also covers songs by Don Covay, the famous R&B singer. The bluesy "Blue Cadillac," which showcases Ricky's rousing singing, is an emotional take on Paul's 1996 song. The recording was made in Minneapolis, where the brothers live. Ben Sidran, who has worked with Ricky and the three brothers for many years, was the producer. The music is relaxed, yet dense and emotional. Here we have a funky jazz masterpiece of the moment that gives us the full story of Minnesota's amazing musical siblings!
