British Blues Rock Maniacs Rejoice! The pinnacle of private blues rock, 'LEVEE CAMP MOAN', finally gets an analog reissue!! In the late 1960s, the clamor of R&B/MODS was swallowed by the psychedelic wave, and hip youngsters set their sights on "Blues Rock" as the next trend. Centered around bands like Free, Chicken Shack, and Fleetwood Mac, this movement spawned numerous guitar heroes and defined the image of British rock that followed. But this blues rock movement also produced many rare recordings. Among them, the pinnacle is this 'LEVEE CAMP MOAN'. Formed in Blackburn, UK in 1969, this band gained popularity in the local underground scene and released one album through County Recording Services, a self-pressing service company. Encased in a custom sleeve typical of self-released records, most of the stock was sold at local gigs, known only to a select few.Influenced by original blues artists like Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, and Skip James, while drawing on the style of contemporary bands like Candle Heat and Savoy Brown, this sound synthesizes into first-rate blues rock. Combined with the raw edge inherent to a self-released album, it shines like a gem. The skilled guitar solos and cool riffs are sure to knock out fans of early McCann. Guitarist Ian Campbell went on to pursue a career as a performer, playing with the Nashville Teens, Arthur Brown's band, Mango Jelly, and others. Bassist Dave Stubbs also had a fulfilling career, joining Eric Clapton's band, among others.
