Founded in 1992 by former members of the St. Thomas' Boys Choir in Leipzig, Germany, where Bach was a cantor, Amarcord has quickly grown into one of Germany's leading male vocal ensembles. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Amarcord's anniversary album features monody, polyphony by Renaissance masters, and a commissioned work written for the ensemble, a "mass" for Amarcord itself! Amarcord, who in recent years has performed a wide range of styles and repertoire, including "Folk Songs" (RKAP 10213), "Schubert" with Eric Schneider (RKAP 10116), and a "Christmas Album" (RKAP 10111), celebrates his 25th anniversary with the release of a new album of his own compositions.
