Follow in the footsteps of Fröhlich! Lied & Dirges by Klaus Mertens! Friedrich Theodor Fröhlich, born in Bruck, Switzerland in 1803, died at the young age of 33, but was one of the most important composers of the early Swiss Romantic period. Although his works are not often performed today, the archives of the University Library of Basel hold more than 700 works. Those works have been rediscovered by the Brook-based International Friedrich-Theodor Fröhlich Society since 2017, edited little by little and performed in concert. Bass-baritone Klaus Mertens will sing in the footsteps of Fröhlich, with Volodymyr Lavrinenko, a master Lied accompanist. Tokyo M-Plus
