The complete works from the 1953 Lucerne Festival, choreographed by the master Furtwängler, are released from the "1st Master"! Including the overture to "Manfred", the master of which was thought to have been lost! The Lucerne Festival series of 1st master releases from the acclaimed audite label. This time, the complete concert of August 26, 1953 conducted by Wilhelm Furtwängler is recorded. Of great interest is the world premiere recording of the overture to "Manfred," the original master of which was thought to have been lost. The overture to "Manfred" was digitally mastered from the original tapes without being copied, and has been carefully reissued by Lutger Beckenhoff, owner of the audite label, with astonishing sound quality. The SACD hybrid disc (AU91441) includes a separate track of the venue sound before the beginning of "Manfred Overture" and "Heroes" (after the end of each work). (The applause after the performance of each piece is recorded entirely within the track of the piece on both the CD and SACD versions.) It will be released in the best reissue condition imaginable today, with the realism of a concert! King International
