South Korea’s renowned pianist, Jimin Ou-Havenit, has recorded Schumann’s “Kreisleriana” and “Humoresque”! Jimin Oh-Havenit, South Korea’s renowned pianist, presents her second album of Robert Schumann’s works following *Dedicated to Clara* (AU-20050). She has recorded the *Kreisleriana* and *Humoresque*. The *Kreisleriana* is a set of eight fantasias dedicated to Chopin. It is a masterpiece characterized by the thick, intertwining sounds and raw, intense emotions typical of Robert Schumann. Meanwhile, the *Humoresque* is a piano piece that has been taken up by many performers in recent years—a large-scale work with a playing time of just under 30 minutes. It is dedicated to Mrs. J. v. Webenau. Jimin Oh-Havenit’s emotionally charged performance is simply breathtaking. After graduating from Seoul National University, Oh-Havenit honed her skills at the Cologne University of Music and Dance and is currently active in Germany. Her discography includes a collection of piano works by Ulrich Reindecker, recorded in the 1990s with her future husband, Raymond Havenit. O’Havenit’s performance, now marked by greater maturity, is rich in depth, and she delivers a magnificent performance on her beloved Bösendorfer piano. Her recordings on the German label audite include “Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition” (AU-20049), “Schubert: Piano Sonata No. 18 & Liszt: Piano Sonata” (AU-20043), “Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 23 ‘Appassionata,’ No. 30, and No. 32” (AU-20047), “K[NOW]NPIANO—‘A Dialogue Through 250 Years of Piano Music’” (AU-23446), and two albums of Schumann’s works.
