Strauss, and to commemorate the Strauss Year 2014, ORFEO has unearthed a wealth of rare recordings on two CDs: from 1956 to 2010, soprano Elisabet Schwarzkopf, soprano Liza Della Casa, Irmgard Seifried, Leontyne Price, and Edythe Strauss, and from 2010 to 2011, soprano Elisabet Schwarzkopf, Elisabet Schwarzkopf, Lisa Della Casa, Irmgard Seefried, Leontyne Price, Edita Gruberova, Jessie Norman, Edith Mathis, and Diana Damrau; mezzo-sopranos Christa Ludwig, Maryana Lipovšek, and Frederika von Stade, Nicolai Gedda, Peter Schreier, Heinz Zednik, and Francisco Araiza as tenors; Hermann Pry, Thomas Hampson, and Michael Foret as baritones, and 18 other great singers.All of them are excellent singers.
