Freni at the Vienna State Opera, live! With Karajan, Kleiber, Abbado, Sinopoli and others! Mirella Flenni, one of the greatest Italian sopranos of the second half of the 20th century, celebrates her 65th birthday with a rare live recording from ORFEO. In 1963, Frényi performed a very successful Mimi in "Bohème" at La Scala, and Karajan loved her so much that he gave her her debut at the Vienna State Opera in the same production in the same year. For the next 30 years, Fröhni performed in various important performances at the Vienna State Opera. This CD includes her Vienna debut in "Bohème" conducted by Karajan and other performances from the 1980s. Of particular note is the first appearance of "Bohème" conducted by Kleiber with Pavarotti, and the performance of "Manon Lescaut" conducted by Sinopoli just before his arrival in Japan (from "Left Alone" to the end of the act), which was highly acclaimed during his visit to Japan in March 1986.In September 1990, she performed a dream collaboration of "Aida" with Pavarotti at the Verdi Concert.
