A live recording of the famous singer Della Casa at the Vienna State Opera! This is a live recording of a performance sung at the Vienna State Opera by one of Germany's leading sopranos of the 1960s, Liza Della Casa. Featured first is "Meistersinger," performed on May 27, 1961, with Otto Wiener's Sachs, Wolfgang Windgassen's Walter, and Heinz Warberg conducting. Arabella" was performed on June 21, 1964, with Josef Kilebert conducting, and is of course a different performance from the complete recording made by ORFEO D'OR at the Salzburg Festival in 1958, which is available on CD. Danton's Death" was performed on November 9, 1967, with Joseph Klips conducting. Idomeneo" was performed on March 14, 1971, and conducted by Jaroslau Krompholz. It is believed to be identical to the one circulating on pirate recordings. This is the only stereo recording.Don Giovanni" was performed in 1955 at the anniversary performance of the rebuilding of the opera house, and was originally released on CD by BMG. It was performed in German. Capriccio" was performed on March 21, 1964, and is available in its entirety on ORFEOR 734082. ［Comment courtesy of King International.]
