Matthias Lingenfelder is well known as the violinist of the Auryn Quartet. After studying with Max Rostal and Gerard Poulet, he founded the Aullin String Quartet. As a quartet, he studied with the Amadeus and Guarneri string quartets. In 2022, after 41 years of activity, Lingenfelder, like the other members of the quartet, is active as a soloist, chamber musician, and trainer of young musicians. The instrument used is a 1722 Stradivarius once owned by Joseph Joachim. Together with pianist Peter Aus, with whom he has worked for many years, Lingenfelder delicately and richly expresses the deep poetic sentiment of Fauré's music, even though he is an ascetic.In 2024, the 100th anniversary of the composer's death, Lingenfelder has breathed new life into the melodies, harmonies, and rhythms of Fauré's works, which were loved by his teacher Poulet, as if they were invited to take flight in the sky, showing us the magnificence of his works.
