Chorale's first attempts at Scriabin and Rimsky=Korsakov! Jean-Philippe Collard is now one of the leading pianists in the French piano world. He has challenged Scriabin and Rimsky-Korsakov, both of which were his first compositions. Both are his first composers. He is a master not only of French composers such as Fauré and Ravel, but also of Rachmaninoff, and his highly acclaimed recording of the complete concerto cycle suggests that he is well suited to Russian music. The main work is a piano concerto written by a young Scriabin. It is an attractive work full of delicate and fresh emotions reminiscent of Chopin, and is perfect for a clean performance of the Chorale. The score is said to have angered Rimsky, who said, "There are so many mistakes! It is a great luxury to be able to listen to the Chorale's performance of Rimsky=Korsakov's concerto, which is said to have angered the composer, who said, "There are so many mistakes! The piano solo is brilliant, and the orchestra is also well rounded, making this an accessible work that is rarely performed, even more so than Scriabin's concerto, and is therefore very valuable. Both recordings were made in 2007, and both offer the mature performance of a chorale in its early sixties. The fill-up is Scriabin's solo piece. The popular D-sharp minor exercise is also well recorded.Also, we can expect the Piano Sonata No. 4, a representative of the mid-term period.
