Description:
Album by a gorgeous cello ensemble led by Paul Colon From the bustling streets of Bengaluru to the magical beauty of the industrial port of Saint-Nazaire, this neo-classical album is a poetic sound that captures the atmosphere of the many places that inspire Paul Colon. With his classical roots, Paul Colon, together with four wonderful cello companions, creates a somewhat contemplative world. Paul Colon studied at the Conservatoire de Lausanne with François Salk. Winner of the Audience Prize of the Icarts Sessions / France Musique 2019 for his solo project Bleue, in 2022 he created the Bleue Quintet, a musical laboratory for five cellos that mixes chamber music culture with improvisation and electronics. Paul Colomb has toured on five continents and taught at the Bangalore Conservatory of Music in India in 2012. He is also a cultural activities trainer for the Conseil de Poche, working with audiences far from the venue, including nursing homes, prisons, hospitals, and asylum seekers. The members of the ensemble are also distinguished performers.Justin Métral studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Philippe Murel and Raphaël Pidou. He has performed with various orchestras and won the "Revelation Adami" award. Frederic Duvilleux, a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, studied with world-famous quartets such as Yo-Yo Ma, Starker, and Alban Berg. His musical interests include Gregorian chant, Baroque music, jazz, and Indian music. He also plays the electric cello. Michel Pierre studied with Philippe Murrer at the Paris Conservatoire. He also plays in techno and progressive rock groups. He is also a professional cook. Louis Rod was awarded the "Revelation Adami" and the Schifra Foundation Prize at the Munich International Competition. He is a founding member of Trio Carrenine.
