Spanish virtuoso Luis Fernando Perez Collection of encore works that he has loved playing for many years. Exquisite rubato and tonal selection. Almost one-take perfection in every piece! Born in Madrid in 1977, Perez is a Spanish virtuoso who has many fans in Japan, appearing at the LFJ Music Festival and teaching at a music academy in Japan. He has received the Franz Liszt Prize, the Alicia de Larrocha Prize, and the Albeniz Medal for his performance of Granados, and has recorded a collection of encores. Although Perez's parents were not musicians, their home was always filled with music, especially his father, who was a piano enthusiast and taught the young Perez how to play the piano. While listening to a variety of records and CDs, he developed a strong attraction to the bonus and encore tracks that were included. They are small, sophisticated gifts from each artist to the audience after the concert. Making lists of these small pleasures became a shared pastime for my father and Perez. This disc is a collection of gems of encore works that Perez collected over the years. The well-known pieces are full of beautiful moments of exhilarating harmonies, and the rubato in Granados' "Andaluza," the sudden improvisational embellishments, accents, and unique tone that is not too dry, are exquisite in a way that only a native of his country can be.From well-known pieces to lesser-known pieces like the Colombian composer Mejía, this is an almost unedited, one-take recording.
