U.S. rock quartet New Brutalism releases latest EP with sharpened sound New Brutalism, a minimal rock quartet formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1998, was recorded by the late Steve Albini and mastered by Bob Weston. New Brutalism consists of Shane Elliott on vocals, Matt Hall on guitar and vocals, David Basford on bass and vocals, and Carey Balch on drums. In the wake of Albini's death, the band has been reaffirming how the musical aesthetic and sound they loved so much was influenced by him and the artists around him.
