Rare recordings. Stravinsky's return performance in 1962, at the age of 80, Stravinsky made his first return to his hometown after the Revolution. We have four recordings of Stravinsky performing his own works as a conductor. In addition, a live recording from September 1965, in which Mravinsky, who was an early adopter of Stravinsky's works in the Soviet Union, conducts the complete "Apollo Leading the Muse" is included. It is said that Khrushchev's political ambitions were behind Stravinsky's return to his hometown, but the result was a historic recording. As one would expect from a Russian orchestra that understands his music firsthand, they more than understood Stravinsky's intentions. King International
