She appeared at the La Folle Journée Music Festival, captivated audiences with her recitals, concertos, and duos with Berezovsky, and was a popular personality with her warm personality at autograph sessions. She recorded several albums for Harmonia Mundi, and this box set collects all her solo recordings. The power, richness of color, and perfection of her expression are truly exquisite. She was enrolled at the Paris Conservatoire at an early age. She studied in the class of Lucette Ducarve, and at the age of 15 she applied to study at the Moscow Conservatory to study with Stanislav Neigaus. Although he was rebuffed by the French authorities, who asked him why he should go to Moscow when he could get a first-class education in France, Engelaar's mother made the effort and he was able to study there. He studied at a time when Stanislav Negus and Golidenweisel reigned supreme (they were so hostile that people had to make arrangements to prevent them from passing each other in the corridor).The intellectual rigor of formal analysis that he had carried with him from childhood was refined to an astonishing degree of perfection during his alchemical education in Moscow. He returned to France to become a professor at the Conservatoire. He was a very strict teacher, but he never tried to exert power over his students. Some people said that she was like a counselor, and she attracted people not only with her music but also with her personality. She was particular about the recording engineer and recording location. The result is a performance that surprises the listener every time, as if the composer is playing the music as she is composing it, and the creativity of the composer is vividly felt. HARMONIA MUNDI
