This is a piece that explores the mischievous world of the Mozart father and son. Joy and fantasy mingle with subtle wit in the well-known "Toy Symphony," Leopold's "Musical Sleigh Ride" with its bell tinkling, and Wolfgang's "Musical Jokes," a "guide to wrong compositional methods. Rather than putting the music of father Leopold and son Wolfgang in opposition, this program and performance attempts to return to the essence of joyful, homely music of pleasure, music that accompanies happy events. The Ensemble Rancicropedi, founded in 2020, is a research-oriented ensemble with a strong emphasis on historical styles. It is conducted by Florent Albrecht, who is also its founder. He was trained by Badura-Skoda and Bilson, and worked in the marketing industry before beginning his musical career in earnest.Here, too, Leopold's skillful storytelling and research are evident in his music, as he creates musical scripts for Leopold's works, like a film director.
