Tiberghian invites you on the first journey through the history of variationsThe very active soloist and ensemble member Tiberghian will begin a series titled "Variations". The six-piece journey is scheduled from Sverling to Kurtag with an elaborate selection of music, mainly Beethoven, that only Tiberghian can offer. The first set is a two-disc set, with Disc 1 featuring Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 11" between Beethoven's three numbered works, the first movement of which is also a variation, and the last movement of which is the famous "Piano Sonata No. 12. Disc 2 begins with Schumann's exercise in variation form using the theme from the second movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, and continues with the keystone of the album, the Webern's variations are interspersed with Beethoven's lighter works. The album ends with Schumann's last and most substantial piece, a variation on a theme sung by a ghost in a dream during a period of mental illness. Tiberghien's playing is precise and steady, with a unique coloring and full of emotion. The following series is very much anticipated. King International
