It features the most popular and iconic arias and songs, live performances from many of his biggest concerts to date, as well as rare, newly discovered, and previously unreleased tracks. The achievements of this most celebrated artist, who became a unique phenomenon in the history of classical music, continue to fascinate audiences around the world even after his death in 2007. CDs 1 through 3, in chronological order, span 45 years of recordings, including operas, Italian songs, religious music, and duets with some of the biggest names in pop and rock. CD4 includes Pavarotti's first known recording of Lassus' "Hello, My Heart" (recorded at the "Slangosleng International Music Festival" in 1955), three duets from the rare "Pavarotti & Friends", three arias from the unpublished "Slangosleng Concerts" in England ( 1995), five songs from a 1978 concert at Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal (Decca's first recording), Verdi's rare work "Hymn of the Nations," and other rare and previously unreleased recordings.
