This is the debut recording of Mozart's Violin Concertos No. 3 and No. 5, featuring violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter—then aged 14—performing with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Discovered by Karajan, Mutter received an exceptionally rare, enthusiastic ovation from the orchestra members after her performance with the Berlin Philharmonic. Mutter will celebrate her 50th anniversary on stage in 2027. "We would sit side by side studying the score, so engrossed we'd forget to turn off the lights even after dusk. He spoke about legato, bowing, and fingering. When I said, 'This is impossible, Maestro,' he always replied, 'Whether it's technically possible on the violin doesn't matter.
