Weill's two symphonies, which Marwitz called "very fine and stimulating music firmly rooted in Berlin," as well as the satirical "Seven Deadly Sins," from a libretto by German poet Bertolt Brecht, are recorded with singer and actress Katharine Mehrling. With an ultimate ability to analogize the meaning behind every note in the score, a desire to establish a meaningful dialogue with his orchestra, and a determination to seamlessly weave the best individual performances into a musical whole, Marwitz has earned a reputation as a truly outstanding conductor.
