The screenplay is written by John Logan, a three-time Academy Award® nominee. The lead role is played by Jafar Jackson, Michael’s real-life nephew. Young Michael is portrayed by up-and-coming actor Giuliano Crew-Valdi. Michael’s father, Joseph Jackson, is played by Coleman Domingo, who was nominated for an Academy Award® two years in a row in 2024 and 2025, while his mother, Katherine Jackson, is portrayed by Nia Long. Kendrick Sampson plays legendary music producer Quincy Jones, who worked on *Off the Wall* and *Thriller*, while Miles Teller—who received high praise for his role in *Top Gun: Maverick*—portrays longtime attorney John Blanka. Additionally, the film’s soundtrack album will be released.
