Bonnie M. "Rivers of Babylon" (12 inch Maxi-Single Vinyl) (Clear Light Blue Vinyl), which dominated disco in the 70's. 50th Anniversary! Boney M. was formed in 1975 by Frank Farian, a West German (at that time) music producer, who gathered studio musicians for a disco hit. From 1975 to 1988, eight songs reached number one in their native Germany and two reached number one in the U.K., making Boney M. a star in their own right. The band's unique style and songs have made them a star in their own right. Their unique style and songs got people dancing, and they continue to be a staple on party playlists to this day. Here in Japan, "Rasputin" (Rasputin the Monster) was a big hit, especially in the disco scene, and was called the "Munich Sound" and became very popular.In recent years, their music has taken deep root in today's culture 50 years later, with dance challenges using "Rasputin" and "Sunny" repeatedly going viral on TikTok and other short videos. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of this legendary group, a 12" clear light blue vinyl release of "Rivers of Babylon" is now available. This album was released in 1978 and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, including five consecutive weeks at number one in the UK charts. The original was written by the Jamaican group Melodians (1970). Brown Girl in the Ring" is the double A-side.
