Description:

What you'll find under the Northern Italian sun Federico Albanese's (Federico Albanese) latest XXIM recordings Italian producer, pianist, and composer Federico Albanese is pleased to announce the release of his second album for XXIM Records, "Blackbirds and the Sun of October". This full-length album, which follows the EP "Days of Passage," is Albanese's fifth studio album and marks the beginning of an illustrious career as an artist. This is a new chapter in Albanese's creativity and sound. Albanese was born in Milan, Italy in 1982. Music has always been with him since he started playing piano as a child, learning clarinet when he became interested in jazz, and playing bass as a teenager, influenced by punk bands. He then turned to new age music in the late 90's and started listening to Brian Eno and William Basinski, which led him to his current path.He eventually grew up and moved to Berlin, where he produced four critically acclaimed albums in eight years. I started my career in Berlin and my children were born there, so I feel a deep connection, but I still can't call it home. Berlin is a very beautiful city, but it is not the same beauty as Monferrato. The countryside of northern Italy in the fall is something else entirely." He felt that a change was needed, both thematically and geographically. The creation of "The Blackbird and the October Sun" was inspired by Albanese's return to his hometown in the fall of 2022 with these thoughts in mind." He felt a "deep connection to a place" and "a sense of freedom that permeates everything, and music was no exception. Not only did the beauty, colors, wildlife, and changing seasons of the nature surrounding him begin to inform his compositions, but there was also a rich history, myths, and legends that have been passed down through the generations. The place is steeped in history. It's very romantic." (1/2)
