Martin Stadtfeldt, who began playing piano at the age of six and gave his first recital at the age of nine, has been a "Bach master" since winning the International J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2002 as the youngest and the first German pianist to win the competition. In 2004, his "Gortberg Variations" topped the German classical CD album charts, and in recent years, his performances of Romantic works have also attracted attention. This album, "Christmas Piano II," was released in 2021 and was described as "his festive sound is delicate and unique...delicate arrangements designed for the warm sound of the piano, pure meditation! This is the sequel to "Christmas Piano," which became a best-selling disc and was described as "a pure meditation! It features new poetic piano arrangements of classical pieces celebrating special occasions, as well as original meditative pieces. Stadtfeldt has intentionally arranged lesser-known melodies, rather than pieces that have already been recorded many times, to create new Christmas piano content.The album was recorded on a felt-topped upright piano to create a moody, warm sound.
