Thielemann and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra finally enter the depths of Bruckner. Christian Thielemann, the principal conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden, is regarded as one of the world's great masters of German music. The Vienna Philharmonic is now one of the most important conductors in the world, and their big project "Bruckner: The Complete Symphonies" is attracting a great deal of attention in preparation for the bicentennial of the composer's birth in 2024. The sixth work in the series is Bruckner's Ninth Symphony, which he worked on in his final years, completing the orchestration of up to three movements but leaving the last movement unfinished. The structure of the work is deeper than ever before, and it is the ultimate symphony that gives the impression of a universe rumbling. This is the second software release of Thielemann's performance of this symphony, already released in 2015 with the Staatskapelle Dresden in Baden-Baden. Thielemann's fluid interpretation of the symphony, which he has also performed in Japan, makes the most of the Vienna Philharmonic's rich and dense sound. The arrangement with the violins facing each other is also very effective in highlighting the structure of the work. This is the first new recording of the same work by the Vienna Philharmonic since 2002, when a live recording was made at the same Salzburg Festival under the direction of Arnoncourt. Christian Thielemann (conductor) was born in Berlin in 1959. He studied at the Stern Conservatory and became Karajan's assistant.After serving as General Music Director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Music Director of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, he has been Principal Conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden since 2012.
