This is opera at its finest! A dramatic and famous scene in which a man and a woman face off. Duets in opera are one of the highlights of the opera, in which two characters sing their feelings. In the case of a tenor and baritone, there are various settings such as love rivals, enemies, or a king and his subjects who are bound by trust, but they are often sung at the moment when the plot of the opera reaches its boiling point. Jonas Kaufmann and Ludwig Tessier are fellow singers who have performed together in opera houses around the world since their first collaboration in 2010. This album is the first session recording of the two together, and features many famous scenes from Italian operas by Verdi, Puccini, and Ponchielli, which they have performed together to great acclaim in the past (the "Evening Prayer in Sicily" and "Don Carlos" are unusually performed in the French version ). Under the powerful and precise direction of Pappano, the sound of the orchestra and chorus, full of Italian spirit, doubles the charm of the works.As for "Otello" among the recorded works, a recording of the complete work with Kaufman and the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia conducted by Pappano was released earlier by Sony Claassical, and it is interesting to compare it with the duet with Carlos Alvarez on that recording. The album title INSIEME means "together" in Italian. The title of the album is a joyful expression of Kaufmann and Tessier's first collaboration on an album. Jonas Kaufmann, born in Munich in 1969, made his debut in 1993 and has distinguished himself at the Zurich Opera since 2001. He is one of the best tenors of our time. Ludovic Tézier was born in Marseille in 1968 and is a baritone. He has a wide repertoire, especially Verdi, and is a recipient of the French Order of Arts and Letters. Antonio Pappano, conductor, has been the Music Director of the Royal Opera since 2002 and of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia since 2005. Sony Music
