Harp virtuoso Lavinia Meyer performs her own compositions as well as songs by Ryuichi Sakamoto "Solitude" and other popular post-classical artists. Iggy Pop will be a guest performer! Lavinia Meyer, one of the leading harp players of her generation, spent four years in the making of her new album, "Are You Still Somewhere? Her third solo album on Sony Classical, which bears her own compositions as the album title, features her own compositions as well as works by various contemporary composers, including Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Solitude" and post-classical favorites Lambert, Auravul Arnalds and Alexandra Strelski. The album features music performed on harp. Lavinia has always been a boundary-breaker in her life. Born in Korea but taken in by a Dutch-Austrian family at the age of two, she began playing harp and studying at the age of nine, entered the Utrecht Conservatory at 11, and performed with the orchestra at 14.To expand the possibilities of the harp instrument, he has performed orchestral and contemporary pieces on harp, commissioned new works from Philip Glass and Auravul Arnalds, and performed works by Radiohead in classical music venues. He has also experimented with elements of electronic music, jazz, theater music, and experimental rock, and his work transcending musical genres and boundaries is reflected in this album.
