Norway's leading jazz and pop singer, Silje Nergaar's new album "Houses" features guest appearance by Kurt Elling. Celia Nergaar is one of Norway's leading jazz and pop singers. Her debut album "Tell me where you're going," produced by Pat Metheny and released in 1990, was a huge hit in Japan and other countries. In 2017, she performed in Japan. The songs on her new album, "Houses," depict the struggles Celia faced when her friends, relatives, and neighbors were trapped in their houses during the pandemic, and her own empathy for the hopes, dreams, loneliness, and longings that arose from these struggles.The recording features some of the finest musicians in Europe, including Helge Lien (piano), Bugge Wesseltoft (keyboards), and Hakon Kornstad (saxophone), as well as special guests, world-class American jazz vocalist Kurt Elling and Polish violinist Adam Baldich. Grammy-winning American composer/arranger Vince Mendoza also joins the ensemble for string arrangements.
