Haken is a six-piece progressive rock band formed in London in 2007, and has released five studio albums since their debut in 2010. Their sound is characterized by an epic fusion of modern metal and 70's progressive rock with exquisite melodies. Since the release of their last album in 2018, the band has been actively touring the world as headliners and winning prog awards. In the meantime, they have been quietly and secretly working on this new album, titled Virus. This work depicts their rise to power, their tyranny, and their subsequent demise. It could be said that the virus, triggered by the onslaught of the riffs, undermines all aspects of human life: biological, psychological, technological, environmental, and political. It is the most diverse content in the band's history, a culmination of experimentation with musical ideas, and a masterpiece that holds fascinating possibilities for the future of this band.
