The artwork design is white and eye-catching, and the booklet is not included in this set. This set does not include a booklet. The track listing can be found on the paper jacket of each disc. Along with the complete Mahler cycle released at the same time, the complete Tchaikovsky symphonies are the most imprinted with Bernstein's enthusiasm from his days with the New York Philharmonic. Starting with No. 5 in 1960, Bernstein recorded No. 6 "Pathetique" in 1964, the first three symphonies in 1970, and the complete recording was completed with the re-recording of No. 4 in 1975. All of them are filled with Bernstein's passion to convey the joy of music with all his might, based on his meticulously analyzed interpretations from his multifaceted viewpoint as a composer, which is typical of this period.The powerful sound of the New York Philharmonic of the time, with its lineup of virtuosos in the brass and woodwind parts, is also exceptional, and Columbia Records' renowned "360 Sound" captures it beautifully. The 1964 recording of the "Pathetique," in particular, clearly expresses the form of this unique symphony, which ends with an adagio, while at the same time overflowing with passionate emotion, as only Bernstein, who was at one with the New York Philharmonic, could do.
