BBC session albums recorded during the band's tenure with "4AD" from 1988 to 1991 are being reissued in a new edition! Pixies, the charismatic band that opened the door to the American grunge and alternative movement in the early 1990s, is proud to announce the reissue of their album "Pixies at the BBC, 1988-91" on 3LP black vinyl and 2CD for the first time! These sessions, which capture the moment Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering rose to the forefront, convey the raw energy of a live performance. The raw energy of the live performances can be felt in these sessions. The 24 tracks (including two versions of "Allison" and "Wave of Mutilation") include popular songs from "Come on Pilgrim" and three of the four studio albums released during the "4AD" era.Also included are covers of The Beatles' "Wild Honey Pie," Eraserhead's "(In Heaven) Lady in the Radiator Song," and The Beach Boys' "Hang On To Your Ego," unlike the original 1998 release, Unlike the original 1998 release, this reissue includes the songs from the six sessions, in chronological order, to meet the expectations of fans. The sleeve has also been updated and features a stunning black and gold design by Chris Bigg using previously unreleased archival Pixies images and paying tribute to the late Vaughan Oliver, who served as the band's visual director.
