1976 Billy Joel's 4th album "Turnstiles" (New York Story), produced by Billy Joel himself, is now available on analog vinyl with the latest remastered soundtrack. Recorded in his hometown of New York City for the first time, this is the fourth album produced by Billy himself. The original title "Turnstiles" refers to the turnstiles found in the New York City subway system. As depicted on the album cover, the album depicts the lives of various people who pass through the turnstiles of the New York City subway system. The songwriting has more depth as it portrays each person: an angry young man, someone trying to escape the big city to travel, a scrawny young man, an old man nearing the end of his life, and so on. He actually left LA to open the album with "Goodbye Hollywood" and "Thoughts of New York," which is filled with love and nostalgia for New York City, and other great songs. This is Billy's favorite album himself, and a highly accomplished album that is highly praised as a masterpiece among his fans.The song was later released as a single on "Songs in the Attic" and became one of their best-known songs, reaching No. 17 in the U.S. It will be released on analog vinyl in 2021 with the latest remastering.
