WITHERFALL, who made their long-awaited first visit to Japan at the end of last year, released their second album "A Prelude to Sorrow" in November 2018, an 8-song EP "Vintage EP". (The Japanese version will be released in February 2019.) WITHERFALL, which made its first visit to Japan as a supporting act for KAMELOT's Japan tour last November, just in time for the album's release, is already delivering a new album. The "Vintage EP" is a coincidental product of the cover songs "I Won't BackDown (Tom Petty)" and "A Tale That Wasn't Right (Helloween)," which were recorded during the making of their second album. In the process of finishing the cover songs, the band found a new direction, and in addition to the two covers, they have added an acoustic arrangement of the self-cover "Ode To Despair," the March 2018 single "The Long Walk Home (December)," and the key to the work is the "Vintage Medley". The medley is an overwhelming trilogy, including the epic "Nobody Sleeps Here," the finale to the first album "Nocturnes & Requiems".Vintage," which is also the title of the album, is a special song that pays tribute to drummer Adam Sagan, who passed away in 2016, and the further arrangement of the song shows his deep feelings (the music video shows a scene where Adam's ashes are scattered on stage). ). This album was mixed and mastered by Christopher "Zeuss" Harris (ROB ZOMBIE, QUEENSRYCHE, HATEBREED, BORN OF OSIRIS), a man who knows WITHERFALL's sound as well as the previous album. Recording was done at Harmony Recording Studios in Hollywood, which has been used by Adele and Miley Cyrus. The album also features percussionist James "Timbali" Cornwell (Smokey Robinson, Earth Wind & Fire), and is an uncompromising work of art. Joseph Michael's words, "It's an EP, but it's over 40 minutes long (laughs)," show his confidence. Of the songs on the EP, "I Won't Back Down (TOM PETTY)" and "A Tale That Wasn't Right (HELLOWEEN)" are already included as bonus tracks on the Japanese edition of "A Prelude to Sorrow".
