The album debuted at #1 on the Italian album charts and to date has received over 170 million total plays and the album is double platinum (over 100,000 copies). This album, composed entirely of original songs, not only has a rock sound, but also includes flamenco and Latin-inspired songs, and is a work that overflows with a wide range of talents.The European tour that followed the album's release sold out 66 of the 80 shows, drawing a total of over 140,000 people. Maneskin is a four-piece band from Rome, Italy, consisting of 20-22 year old Damiano David (vo), Victoria De Angelis (b), Thomas Rudge (g), and Ethan Torchio (ds). The name of the band, which means "moonlight" in Danish, was suggested by Victoria, who is half Danish, to the band members, and out of several words, "maneskin" was the one that instantly attracted them. The members have known each other since early elementary school and started playing music together in 2015. Their sound is characterized by a diverse blend of rock, rap, hip-hop, reggae, and funk, all held together by the soulful voice of frontman Damiano. Also eye-catching are the glamorous rock-star-like stage costumes. With no new rock stars in sight, this band is a must-see, as they have begun to take the world by storm with their rock revival.
