Drummer Nick Mason is a founding member of Pink Floyd. This is the first time that Nick Mason's solo works, which showcases not only Floyd, but also the other side of Nick Mason, have been revived on analog LP! This is the first reissue since the original release of his first solo album "NICK MASON'S FICTIONAL SPORTS" in 1981, which was a big hit at the time of its release, featuring many splendid guests such as Robert Wyatt and Carla Bley! Drummer Nick Mason is also a founding member of Pink Floyd. In addition to his activities as a member of Pink Floyd, he has toured with his own band, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, to great acclaim, written his own biography of Pink Floyd, and is also known as a huge car enthusiast, having participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He has also written a biography of Pink Floyd, participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, and has published several books on cars. Nick Mason's solo albums will be reissued on CD and analog LP.The works were included in the 2018 box set UNATTENDED LUGGAGE, but it has been a long time since their original release that they are each available as standalone CDs and analog LPs.Nick Mason's first solo album, released in 1981, NICK MASON' s FICTIONAL SPORTS", Nick Mason's first solo album, released in 1981. The album was a big hit at the time of its release, featuring Robert Wyatt, Carla Bley, and many other splendid guests. The impetus for this album came about in 1979, when Nick Mason booked a studio in the US to discuss ideas with Robert Wyatt and Carla Bley. Before leaving for the US, Carla Bley sent Nick Mason a demo cassette. The demo cassette is the core of this album.All of the songs on the album were written by Carla Bley, and Robert Wyatt sings vocals on all but the opening number, "Can't Get My Motor to Start". The album artwork by Hypnosis is also noteworthy. All soundtracks were remastered in 2018 for the box set release. Of his own solo work, Nick Mason says: "These works occupy an important place in my musical life. FICTITIOUS SPORTS was born out of my involvement in projects with Mike Mantler, Carla Bley, and Robert Wyatt, and I owe a lot to the amazing musicians they introduced me to at Grog Studios in Woodstock."
