Description:
Marina and the Dimonds is the project of Welsh-born Greek diva Marina Diamandis. The "new Kate Bush" and live performer has changed her name to "Marina" and released her first new album in four years. She has recently gained attention for her appearance as a featured artist on Clean Bandit's "Baby". She says that she changed her artist name to her first name "Marina" because "it felt more natural to me, and it also allows me to express who I really am, a person with many facets, rather than who I am in my artist persona. I think it's more natural for me to express myself that way. I signed with Warner Bros. at the age of 22, and I have established myself through my work. For the past 10 years, I have been working under the artist name "Marina and the Diamonds," but as I have grown with my work, it has become more important for me to express myself naturally as a person. Working under my first name is one way of achieving this." This is the first album to be released under Marina's name, and the latest, "LOVE+FEAR".As the title suggests, this is an album of songs about "LOVE" and "FEAR," two conflicting emotions that lurk in the human heart. The eight songs that comprise "LOVE" sing of the desire to celebrate life and the desire to unite and elevate oneself, while the songs that comprise "FEAR" explore issues such as purpose, insecurity, sexism, and, more broadly, the abuse of power debate. In short, LOVE+FEAR is a work that discusses the extremes of human nature. In fact, Marina herself said the following about the album: "I am "LOVE+FEAR". In fact, Marina herself said of the album, "I made Love+Fear as two different pieces that can be listened to separately. Many of us see "LOVE" as positive and "FEAR" as negative, but the truth is that there are positives in fear and negativity. The album was recorded over two years in London, Sweden, and LA, with production credits including Noonie Bao, Sam De Jong, Oscar Gorres, Camille Purcell, Justin Parker, and Joe Janiak. The first eight tracks of "LOVE" are currently available, including "Handmade Heaven" about the sorrow of being isolated from nature, "Orange Trees" about Marina's family's home island in Greece, and "Superstar". Marina continues to grow as an artist and a human being. She has arrived at the expression "Marina. The answer to this question is found in the work "LOVE+FEAR".
