Charlie XCX, a new generation pop icon who also works as a creator, has announced the release of her long-awaited second full-length album, "CHARLI", her first in five years since 2014's "SUCKER". Five years may seem like too long a blank in today's fast-paced pop scene, but CHARLI has not been silent during that time. During the past five years, she has been pouring her energies into touring, collaborative projects, producing and releasing singles, and in 2017, she released two mixtapes.These include the avant-pop EP "VROOM VROOM" featuring Scottish producer SOPHIE and others, "Bounce" featuring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and a mixtape "NUMBER 1 ANGEL" featuring Uffie, Raye, Cupcakke, and many other female artists. The mixtape "NUMBER 1 ANGEL", "Boys" featuring Joe Jonas and Brendon Urie (Charlie himself directed the music video), and the recently released "Dream Glow" with the members of BTS. The album also includes "Boyz" (the music video was directed by Charlie himself) and "Dream Glow" with the members of BTS, which was recently released. He has also made an impact as a performer live, opening for Taylor Swift's tour with Lollapalooza and Camila Cabello in 2017, and accompanying SIA on their tour. Already firmly established in the contemporary pop scene, Charlie's second full-length album, "CHARLI," features 15 tracks, and was produced by Charlie herself as an Ekutekutev producer, along with her longtime collaborator AG COOK.Like her 2017 mixtapes "Number 1 Angel" and "POP2", this album also features a number of special guests. The heart of this album is, without a doubt, collaboration. The artists participating in "CHARLI" range from those with whom she has collaborated in the past to those who are performing for the first time, and include a colorful array of genres and characters. These include Troye Sivan, with whom she collaborated on the single "1999," released in 2018, which is also on the album, Christine And The Queens, Haim, Sky Ferreira, and Cupcakke. (1/2)
