Although it includes a few songs from the pre-October 1959 "The Drifters" era, it contains seven UK No. 1 singles and 16 UK Top 10 singles that Cliff Richard recorded with The Shadows.With Hank Marvin's echoing, vibrato-laden lead guitar and Bruce Welch's rhythm guitar, The Shadows were a major influence on the British music scene at the time, and they became widely known as one of the "most successful instrumental groups in the history of popular music.
