A collection of film music celebrating the golden age of Hollywood, including two BBC Music Magazine Award winners ("Respighi: The Roman Trilogy" [RCHSA5261/CHSA5261] and "Korngold: Symphony in F-sharp" [RCHSA5220/CHSA5220]) and a first concert at the 2021 BBC Proms. John Wilson continues to make great strides with the international acclaim of his concerts, and his reunited "Sinfonia of London" has released a new recording of "Film Music"! Before John Wilson's reunion, the original Sinfonia of London appeared in over 300 film credits, including the soundtrack to Bernard Herrmann's 1958 Hitchcock classic "Vertigo," making it one of the leading recording orchestras of the 1950s. The orchestra was renowned as one of the leading recording orchestras of the 1950s. John Wilson himself was originally a popular conductor specializing in film music, musical numbers, and light music, so this special project is truly a return to their roots.The program includes "The Wizard of Oz," "My Fair Lady," and "Isashigi," including "Over the Rainbow," as well as a suite from "Rebecca," recorded for the first time in this concert.
