Haydn composed more than 40 piano trios during his brilliant career. And despite the fact that so many of his works have survived, each of them has its own unique characteristics and appeal. This album contains a well-balanced selection of works composed in the early and late periods of his career. The album is a well-balanced collection of Haydn's works from his early and late periods, which allows the listener to fully appreciate how the Trio Gaspard captures the characteristics of the Haydn of that period. Another interesting aspect of this series is the commissioning of works inspired by Haydn's piano trios by contemporary composers, and this album includes the world premiere recording of "For Gaspar" by cellist Leonid Golokov. We hope you will also enjoy this work inspired by Haydn's Trio and the Cello Concerto.Trio Gaspard was founded in 2010 by members from Germany, Greece, and England, and has been praised for its fresh interpretations and approach, regularly performing in the world's major concert halls such as the Vigmore Hall and the Berlin Philharmonic. They have won the Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition in Weimar and the Haydn International Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, and their concerts have actively featured Haydn's works since their inception.
