Sofia Fomina, a rising star soprano from Russia, studied at the Orlovsky Music College and the Gnesin Music Academy, and entered the international opera scene with a sensational debut at the Royal Opera House in 2012. Since then, she has appeared at major opera houses & festivals including Frankfurt, Paris, Bavaria, Hungary, Seattle, Amsterdam, Covent Garden, BBC Proms, and her role as Pamina at the 2019 Glyndebourne Festival has received rave reviews. Sofia Fomina's collection of Metonel songs features Russian songs on poems by Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Chutchev, Afanasy Fate, and others, as well as Metonel's German roots and heavy influence from German culture, including Goethe and Beethoven.
