The London Brass, a treasure of the British musical world! The latest recording is Gregson's "Music of Angels"! The Philip Jones Brass Ensemble (PJBE) is a legendary brass ensemble that established the "brass duet" formation and style, and dramatically improved the quality, repertoire, and recognition of brass ensembles.After the PJBE disbanded in June 1986 following the retirement of its leader Philip Jones, many of its members have taken over the sound, style, and philosophy of the PJBE, and have begun to further the history of the PJBE. The London Brass, which has continued the tradition of the PJBE up to the present day, and has developed its activities by introducing new repertoire one after another, will perform music for brass instruments, including brass bands, and brass band works by Edward Gregson, a well-known figure in the contemporary British musical world. Edward Gregson (1945-), who is well-known as a leading figure in the field of music for brass instruments, including brass bands, and brass band works, will perform a highly anticipated program of works for brass and percussion. This London Brass program was planned to commemorate the 75th birthday of Gregson, who has created many masterpieces including "The Sword and the Crown," "The King is Inherited," "Festivo," and concertos for brass and woodwind instruments.The large-format works for brass, such as "Symphony in Two Movements" and "Music of Angels (commissioned by Martin Brabbins)," as well as "Aria for Philip," composed for the Philip Jones Memorial Concert, and "Brass Quintet," an important early work, April 2017 The London Brass will perform a fascinating program that is truly history itself for Gregson's brass ensemble, including "Fanfare for a New Era," commissioned by Ms. Sheila Storer to celebrate the opening of Storer Hall at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester, in April 2017.
