Description:
A new recording of Thomas Adès' new ballet music "Dante" by the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel is now available on 140g analog LP! The epic epic poem "The Divine Comedy" is the theme of this epic journey through the afterlife of Dante Alighieri, made possible through a pioneering artistic collaboration on the contemporary art scene. In the first-ever collaboration between the Royal Ballet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the groundbreaking choreography by the Royal Ballet's resident choreographer, Wayne McGregor, has been fused with composition by composer and conductor Thomas Adès, one of the most influential musicians of the 21st century. The production will be performed by the company's resident choreographer, Wayne McGregor. The first part, "Inferno," was premiered in October 2019 by Dudamel (conductor) and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and will be performed in October 2021 at the Royal House of the Arts in England by award-winning visual artists known and highly regarded for their pioneering work in film and drama Dante's extraordinary vision was presented in three parts, with Tashita Dean, acclaimed visual artist known for her pioneering work in award-winning film and drama, lighting designer Lucy Carter, and Uzma Hameed for the adaptation. Dante's vision was to create "a mixture of different forms of pure Franz Liszt music, like a fantasy or an improvised cadenza that begins as you are playing a Liszt piece and gradually changes into something different. It's not a clear change, but it's somewhat eerie, and I quite like it," Ades said. This live recording of the complete "Dante" trilogy was made April 28-30, 2022, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, with Gustavo Dudamel, one of the best exponents of Adès' work, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic playing with overwhelming power and expression. The recording is a live recording of the entire "Dante" trilogy. The album was recorded, engineered and mastered by the highly acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning Alexander Repay & Dmitry Repay. 140g analog LP version also released simultaneously with the CD! Due to the nature of imported products, there may be some minor scratches, folds, scuffs, dents, tears, stains, crushed corners, scratches on the disc surface that do not affect playback, stains, image differences, individual differences, etc., on the product (including jacket, outer vinyl, outer box, case, enclosure, etc.) at the time of arrival.
