New EP "Hot Sun Cool Shroud" (analog vinyl)In conjunction with the Wilco-sponsored Solid Sound Festival, held June 28-30 in North Adams, Massachusetts, the new EP Hot Sun Cool Following the release of the critically acclaimed album "Cousin" in 2023, Jeff Tweedy returned to the studio to revisit the work that had been recorded during those sessions but was unfinished. A few months later, Tweedy worked again with engineering mixer Tom Schick to complete Hot Sun Cool Shroud. These six songs expanded and echoed the beloved sound of "Cousin. It's fun to release something new with a solid sound," said Thicke, "but it's also a lot of fun to do something new with a solid sound. It starts off pretty hot, like the heat of the day, with some slightly incendiary instrumentals. It ends with a cool breeze." Some of the tracks on "Hot Sun Cool Shroud" are more aggressive than others. There is also a song about love.It has all the pieces of summer, including the sound of cicadas," Tweedy said.
