Olafsson's second Deutsche Grammophon release after his stunning major debut in 2017 with "Philip Glass: Piano Works"! The world's attention is focused on the "Glenn Gould of Iceland" (The New York Times). She also charmed the audience with Bach and Glass in a recital at the Musashino Bunka Kaikan. Olafsson, who describes Bach as a "kaleidoscope" (a kaleidoscope reflecting a variety of music and life), will not be recording the complete works or complete works, such as the "Goltberg Variations," "Partita," and "French Suite," which everyone has recorded, but rather a selection of familiar and somewhat surprising pieces that have not received much attention. The album is a unique album that sheds light on various aspects of Bach's music, and gives a sense of newness to the music. It is also interesting to note how the piano arrangements of the pieces that were not originally keyboard works have changed from generation to generation, from Rachmaninoff, Busoni, Sirotti, and Stradal to Olafsson's own arrangements.The album is an extraordinary exploration of Bach's infinite possibilities.
