His creative works were made known to the world through the efforts of ECM Records founder Manfred Eicher, whose first album "Tabula Rasa" was released in 1984, and since then their partnership of over 30 years has produced many masterpieces and several booms. The partnership over the past 30 years has resulted in many masterpieces and several booms. This album, compiled to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Pelto's birth, captures Eicher's struggle to capture the delicate and mysterious sounds of Pelto's music on a recording medium, while also allowing the listener to enjoy the "image of Pelto" that many musicians, including Gidon Kremer and Keith Jarrett, have created for each of them.
