Roland Wilson, Musica Fiata, and La Chapelle Ducale, who have continued to release albums filled with discoveries, each one a treasure hunt, commemorate the 450th anniversary of Monteverdi's birth. Monteverdi is arguably one of the most important composers in the history of music. His impressive oeuvre has had a profound influence on the course of music history and continues to fascinate listeners today with its fine productions. One of his greatest and most sacred works is the Evening Prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1610, but there is another outstanding work that has been overlooked to this day: the Evening Prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary, published in 1650. This collection of works, a collection of works that had been extensively influenced by the earlier, stands out for its extraordinary vocal and instrumental combination of exceptional colorfulness and imposing musical contrasts. This setting reveals that Monteverdi combines the polyphonic and baroque styles of the Renaissance.Also noteworthy is the inclusion of Monteverdi's 1624 motet, as well as works by contemporaries Rigatti, Neri, and Grandi, due to customary elements of the time. Roland Wilson and Musica Fiata and La Chapelle Ducale have researched every aspect of performance and interpretation of the period, and have produced a superb reproduction of the wonderful polyphony.
