Following his debut album for Sony Classical, "Schubert: Goethe Lieder," Swiss tenor Mauro Peter's second album is a Schumann album with Schumann's most popular song cycle, "Love of the Poet," as its core. In this album, too, with lyrical elegance, beautiful voice, perfect pronunciation, and articulation, Schumann's music beautifully expresses the joy of love, the pain of a lost love, and the memories of a bygone youth. Mauro Peter was born in 1987 in Lucerne, Austria, and received rave reviews in 2012 for his performance of "The Beautiful Watermill Girl" in "Schubertiade," which led to his selection in 2013 to perform "Parsifal" at the Salzburg Easter Festival under Thielemann and "Tamino" in "The Magic Flute" at the Opera National de Lyon. In 2014, she appeared in "Cosi fan tutte" and "Don Giovanni" at Theater an der Wien under the direction of Arnoncourt, and has been in demand at major festivals and opera houses in Europe.The 2014 Wigmore Hall live recording also received high international acclaim, as did Wunderlich's return to the Wigmore Hall; in August 2016, he will appear at the Schubertiade Festival in Biabertin, Spain, and then at the Salzburg Festival in the summer of 2017, where he will perform Andrés in "Wozzeck."
